Around the world
you will find many gods. There are still many pagan gods worshipped through
idols.
The God of
the Bible is the most believed in God. There are many differing beliefs
about God. And He is worshipped in many differing ways. But He is the God
most people accept.
All that we
know about Jehovah God is taught in the Bible. God is mentioned by name over
11,000 times in the Bible. There are about 32,000 verses in the Bible, so
God is mentioned there by name on an average of once in every three verses.
How did we
get the scriptures in the Bible? The Bible teaches us that God used prophets
inspired by the Holy Spirit to produce them (2 Peter 1:21). Jesus told His
apostles that the Holy Spirit would guide them into all the truth (John
16:13). Christ also said God’s word was truth (John 17:17). Reading the
Bible produces faith in God (Romans 10:17).
John Clayton
was born to parents who were both atheists. During his growing up years he
heard that there were contradictions in the Bible. In college a professor
told him that also. John asked the professor where the contradictions were.
The professor refused to answer. John decided he would find them for
himself. He read the Bible through, and never found any. He read it through
four times without finding any contradictions. He got half way through the
Bible again and suddenly realized there were no contradictions in the Bible.
He became a believer in God. He became a Christian, and has spent his life
lecturing on his faith in God. He has turned many unbelievers to God.
The Bible is
a complete book about God. Read 2 Timothy 3:16, 17. More on
