Some educators
have come to the conclusion that to train the mind without training the
morals is to equip people who have no real purpose for living.
The growth of
our criminal population may be the result of this. The few who escape the
penalty for their lives live in an environment that is destructive to their
well being. How many drug dealers are murdered by other drug dealers/users?
Not only for
criminals, but immoral people live a life style permeated with diseases that
cripple and shorten their lives. They live with more pain while they are
alive.
Nothing that
increases the welfare of people is increased by dishonesty and immorality.
Everything
helpful in our lives is required of those who believe in God. They are
taught to be honest, moral, and ambitious in every good work. People who
live clean and sober lives have clear heads to face the demands of life. The
technical skills needed for success are taught to believers along with those
added values.
Believers in
God have every opportunity to become leaders in all areas of life. The same
principle applies to those who are needed to support the efforts of leaders.
Does it not seem clear that success and happiness in this life, plus hope
for another life, enriches the lives of believers in God?
