There are two
ways to view life. One is that the natural life we now have is all there is.
People with this
view sometimes have such hard or bad experiences they think life is not
worth living. Their sufferings, or disappointments, make life hard to
endure. Some of these people come to the conclusion that their pain or hard
times are too much to endure.
Oftentimes,
they end their lives in suicide. In fact, there are 30,575 suicides in the
United States in a year, most of them as a result of this view.
There is an
alternate view. It is the view that this life will be followed by a second
life. In it we can be totally comfortable and joyous. Or, we may be in
constant misery. What happens to us there depends on the choices we make in
this life.
Future life
believers have pain, suffering, heartaches, and disappointments. They
sometimes struggle with hard times. But theses are overshadowed by faith
that gives them courage to endure those times. With faith bad times are
usually short, and they are followed by times of peace, joy, love, and hope
that make their lives meaningful, and to live on is worthwhile.
Each of us
has a choice. Shall we live thinking this is the only life we will have? If
so, then we make those choices that we think will give us the most pleasure
in this life. Or, shall we live our life believing there is a better life
waiting for us when this one is over? If we do, we need to know what choices
to make to have that life as joyous as it can be. More on our next Web
